I'd like to set up VMware in one of the machines and migrate the other one to run as a virtual machine. There are two monitors and there is plenty of HDD space available on 2 drives. The basic PC is based on an AMD Athlon 3800+ processor (about 5 years old) so no multi-core capabilities. I wish to install VMware Player on a PC currently set up as dual-boot with both Windows XP SP3 32-bit and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I'm (very) new to VMware and have found that the initial documentation does not help me with some fundamental architectural decisions.
